El Contador is a very pretty village with stunning mountain surroundings. The current owners chose this location for its wide selection of outdoor pursuits including walking & mountain biking. The property has been used as a holiday home not just to enjoy the weather and tranquillity but also to enjoy the outdoor activities this area offers. The Sierra Maria mountain ranges are both beautiful and exciting to explore. The village is home to basic facilities with a general store & bar, whilst the neighbouring town of Chirivel, just a few minutes away, also boasts more amenities, including a municipal outdoor swimming pool open from June to September. The village is approx. 50 minutes inland from the coast of Aguilas. The airports of Almeria & Murcia can be reached within 90 minutes, and Alicante airport is approx. 2 hours´ drive.
The home sits in the centre of El Contador and has been previously reformed. As the property has stood empty for some time, some work is now required to return this home to its former glory.
